NEWLY ELECTED NCWM DIRECTOR
Rev. Janice Marshburn
Thank you for your vote of confidence in electing me as your NCWM Director for 2010-2014. I'm humbled. At no greater time in my life have I ever realized I need each one of you more. I recently read a devotion from the book "One Minute Bible - Women in Leadership". On day three, the author emphasized "You don't have to be on the frontlines to make sizable contributions toward your team's success". In Judges 4 we find Israel having suffered 20 years of oppression at the hand of Jabin, the Canaanite king. God used a woman named Jael to kill Sisera, the leader of the Canaanite army, by nailing him to the ground. God subdued Jabin before the Israelites, consequently bringing relief to Israel. Jael was in a tent away from the frontlines, but had a powerful impact on the success of the mission. Per the demand of my new position, I will be on the frontlines; however, please be reminded that I need "you" backing me up and doing all you can right where God has placed you. Your participation is vital to the success of the mission!! The task is great; therefore, I solicit your daily prayers. Let me challenge you to be a leader who mixes some new with the old and stays current.
Leading in full view of the eyes of God!

Celebrate the Mission
Welcome to the official North Carolina Conference Women’s Ministries page. On this page you will be given access to information about the Women's Ministries program in the North Carolina Conference and WM events. As well as being designed to help local Women's Ministries, this page has been constructed to provide personal enrichment and encouragement for the spiritual lives of Christian women. Links on this page will also provide access to other resources which are of importance to serious disciples of Jesus Christ.
Women's Ministries has a mission to women who need and who desire to serve Christ. For this reason each year the International Pentecostal Holiness Church Women's Ministries adopts a theme which guides the activities of the Women's Ministries. This theme provides a foundation for spiritual growth and evangelism.
If you would like to know more about the events that have been planned by the North Carolina Women's Ministries or if you would like more detail on the scheduled activities than are provided in the Calendar, then you will need to visit the events in detail page. Although it will be sometime before we are able to accept online registration fees, please check out our registration page. You may print the applications directly from the site. On this page we encourage you to let us know online about your plans, submit articles and news for the WM page of the Evangel, or simply make comments about Women's Ministries. You may even want to ask questions or seek advice about local Women's Ministries needs.
One last thing before you check out our other pages. If want to know about what the other Women's Ministries in North Carolina are doing please go to the WM News page. You may find ideas here that you can use with your local Women's Ministries or may simply find personal encouragement and help.
Please look for this link on the International Pentecostal Holiness Church Women's Ministries page located at www.women.iphc.org. This is where you will find information on how to begin a local Women's Ministries and more about the General Women's Ministries program. At that site you will also be able to identify the annual theme and be able to order or download materials for use with your local group.
The Women's Ministry Calendar for 2010 is available for download.

Together…
We hope that you will use these helpful
resources in discovering ways to involve yourself, your family
members, and every member of your church in serving your
community and beyond.
• Homebound Ministry – Gather a list of your church’s homebound. Call someone on the list to see what his/her needs are. Get a group together and do odd jobs for them. It may be something as simple as changing a light bulb, putting weather stripping around a door, trimming bushes, etc.
• Grocery Shopping – Give someone a call to find out if you might help them with their grocery shopping. Are they able to come with your for a little outing? Is so, establish a time to pick them up and take them to the store. Remember to be flexible, patient, and not hurried. If they are unable to shop, you can go by their home, get their list, shop, and then visit with them as you put their items away.
• Adopt-A-Grandparent – There may be a senior citizen in your church who doesn't have family nearby. Is there a single parent in your congregation who could use the support of that senior? Do you have a family whose children don’t have grandparents or at least not any in the area? Perhaps many of your own church members could feel a “healed” spirit, a loving support that they have been missing simply by bringing people together.
• “Thinking of You Cards” – How many times has your load seemed lighter, your day brighter by a card you received stating that someone was thinking about you? In our fast-paced world of technology we often don’t take time to send a card to those whose whole outlook on life might be changed by receiving a card. This is a great church wide activity – kids can create their own cards; someone can bring cards to a WM meeting and take time for people to write a personal note before sending them to your homebound, church members in nursing homes or assisted living facilities, or the elderly in the community.
• Military Ministry – Do you know anyone in a branch of the military? Why not send notes of encouragement on a regular basis? Groups within the church can send care packages with scripture verses and letters about current events in your community. Don’t forget the families that are left behind when a spouse is serving overseas. Be sure to pray for the entire family.
